Biography
Diane is an Australian mix media artist: inspired by nature, colour and texture. Since graduating in 2018 with High Distinction from the Canberra Institute of Technology’s Diploma of Visual Arts, Diane has expanded her practice from the figurative elements of realism to playful abstraction. Her work catalogues observation of the natural world through visual relationships of shape, colour and light.
Artist’s Statement
Diane’s art is created through a detailed compositional process of layering oil and cold wax with a range of materials and techniques. Each work is a nuanced deconstruction of shape and form filtered through gestural marks: the final textures and structures revealing a unique pathway to coherence, unity and story-telling.
